Richard Brock was raised in Dinuba, California and accepted Christ and received a call to ministry at the First Baptist Church there. He graduated from Lavern University with a BA and from American Baptist Seminary of the West in Covina, CA with his MA. He also studied Church Growth at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena.

Richard served three Baptist churches as pastor. His first Church was at First Baptist Church in New Plymouth, Idaho for three years, then ten years at Tulare First Baptist Church and he served for seventeen years at Church of the Foothills in San Jose, CA.

He left Church of the Foothills to go on the staff of Growing Healthy Churches where he served eight years as an Area Minister/Consultant in both South Coastal Area and Sacramento River where he played a major role in the restructuring of the Region toward Growing Healthy Churches. Now in his role as a Pastoral Search Consultant, he works with churches in pastoral transition helping church leaders to assess their strengths, needs and to envision a great future. He also works in the areas of recruitment of pastors, working with search committees and leading a core of trained interim ministers
